What are we supposed to do? Monitor and treat for varroa!
When are we supposed to do it? Monthly!
It is so important to plan for integrated pest management. A trick that I use is to put reminders in my calendar to keep track of when to conduct the next set of varroa alcohol washes, when to take off treatments, and when to do a follow-up varroa count.
If you’re trying to be more organized and intentional about your varroa assessments and treatments, download this monthly chart. You can write down mite loads, the treatments that you applied, and your plans for upcoming months. In your plans, include what items you need order so that you have materials to measure mite loads and treat at the times that you need them.
